The Federation of Kenya Employers organized a Human Resource Forum: Disability at the Workplace on 15th December 2020 at 10:00am(EAT).
The Forum was held virtually and aired live on Niusline TV and FKE’s social media channels. This forum followed the launch of FKE’s Kenya Business and Disability Network (KBDN) on 19th November 2020. FKE ‘s Kenya Business and Disability Network aims at creating a safe space in Kenya for employers to build their disability confidence.
The main objective of this HR Forum was to build capacity of HR practitioners in Disability at Workplace through topical sensitization on disability inclusion. Speakers who included HR practitioners from Safaricom, Coca Cola Beverages Kenya, Signs Media, an employee from Standard Chartered Bank, a potential job seeker and Disability and Gender Specialists from Sightsavers and PLAN international were able to have comprehensive dialogue with the corporates in attendance, highlighting that, disability inclusion makes good business sense and that KBDN is in place to assist in this journey. The forum was moderated by Grace Kaome, the Human Resources and Administration Manager of the Federation of Kenya Employers and a total of 95 employers from Nairobi were in attendance.
